75th Home and Garden Tour Volunteers Needed

We are very excited about this 75th anniversary of the Tour and hope you will be able to help us make it a success. The jobs are listed below with a short description of each one. Click on the Sign Up button, then look at the tabs along the top of the SignUpGenius to choose different addresses.

In the upper right hand corner, “More Sign Up Groups” will take you to other available volunteer options. 

For Traffic & Safety click near the top 
at the side where it says, +4, to view other addresses.

(Traffic is the only place where it says +4 at the side.)

Note a couple of extra events this year: a Preview Party on Thursday evening featuring 
all of the homes,
and a picnic at the Walton garden on Saturday only.

Mats and Gear, and set-up/take down signage.

Job Description: Mats: receive mats (approx. 12, 4×6 size) from rental company

deliver to houses day before the Tour along with benches and stair treads (that are in

our storage unit). Signs: In our storage unit we have signs that are used to direct tour

guests to the homes, signs to direct to Ticket Tent/Garden shop. After the Tour is over

collect all, return to storage unit and arrange for mat rental company to pick up mats

from you.

Hostesses for Homes

Job Description: Using pre-written scripts, welcome tour guests to the home/garden, guide them through the home/yard, answer questions. Hostesses will be invited to preview the home/garden in early June and become familiar with the scripts.

Garden Shop and Ticket Tent.

Job Description: Garden shop (East Woods School) volunteers will help to keep plants

watered and fresh looking, answer questions, consolidate sale items as needed. May

work at the check-out accepting payment for items by cash/check or credit/debit card

using a Square Terminal (Training provided). Ticket Tent (also at East Woods School)

will sell Tour Booklets (tickets) and hand out booties to Tour guests. Payment will be

cash/check or cred/debit card using a Square terminal, (training provided)

Thursday evening Preview Party – Homes only.

Job Description: On Thursday June 15 from 5-7pm there will be a Preview party at the

homes only. Hostesses will be needed for that 2 hour shift, just like on the days of the

Tour.

Traffic and Safety, including Van Driversfor all Homes and Gardens.

Job Description: Traffic & Safety volunteers will wear a green vest and direct

traffic/parking as needed. Van drivers will be needed to shuttle guests between a

parking area (to be determined) and the Walton garden at 2140 E Streetsboro St.

Hostesses for Gardens.

Job Description: Using pre-written scripts, welcome tour guests to the home/garden,

guide them through the home/yard, answer questions. Hostesses will be invited to

preview the home/garden in early June and become familiar with the scripts.

Tea Room Hostesses.

Job Description: Welcome guests, serve and replenish tea and cookies as

needed. Clear and clean tables as needed.
